Basic trends in sound intensity can be created by using the alphanumeric display on
the VPE-2000, however if more detailed recording and comparison is
what you’re after,
models VPE-2000 and VPX-WR can be connected to spectrum analysis products for
further review.

We’re not in the business of writing and selling software, however we can put you in touch
with companies who offer PC based - dual channel, real time, FFT
spectrum analysis
software which works quite effectively with AccuTrak detectors. Simply connect AccuTrak’s
output to your sound card, and view... Time
series, Spectrum, Phase, Spectrogram,
and 3D Surface. All for well under $1000!

AccuTrak converts high frequency ultrasound (kilohertz) to the audible (hertz) range
where it can be viewed by most analyzers. The output is AC, and is
referenced to the case,
which is the shield-ground of the co-axial cable. The range of the signal is 0-750mV. The
output frequency is 0-3000kHz while (on the
VPX-WR) the actual ultrasonic frequency
is 38kHz plus the observed translated frequency. This means that if you see a 1600Hz
signal it comes from a 38 + 1.6 =
39.6kHz source.

If your equipment is capable of processing high frequencies, AccuTrak can be ordered
to provide the “Raw” (untranslated) signal rather than the
translated signal. This offers
advantages because the original signal has wider bandwidth and no filtering of low frequencies.
This technique can provide
simultaneous viewing of a wider range of events in realtime.
